The Health Foundation
The Health Foundation is an independent charity that aims to improve health and the quality of healthcare for the people of the UK. As well as funding Stage 4 of our research, they have provided funding for the implementation of the Paediatric Pain Profile including support for this website.

Promoting Palliative Care for Children
ACT provides advocacy, education and information on children's palliative care for parents and professionals.

The Pediatric Pain Research Lab, Dalhousie University, Canada
Provides resources and information on children's pain. A very useful site for parents and professionals.

Action Medical Research
Action Medical Research funded the first three stages in the development of the Paediatric Pain Profile. Action Medical Research is one of the country's leading medical research charities. For over 50 years they have funded pioneering research into a wide range of illnesses and conditions.

The Canadian Pain Society
The Canadian Pain Society, incorporated in 1982 as a chapter of the International Association for the Study of Pain, includes as members a variety of people interested in pain.

City of Hope - Pediatrics
Patient and family educational books and pamphlets as well as policy statements from professional organizations on pediatric pain management. Bibliographies on neonates and pediatric reference lists and resources are also included.

 

Institute of Child health


The Paediatric Pain Profile has been developed by researchers at the Royal College of Nursing Institute, Oxford and the Institute of Child Health, London. Studies to develop and test the tool were funded by Action Research (with full support from the National Lottery Charities Board) and The Health Foundation. The producers of the Paediatric Pain Profile give their permission for pages to be photocopied and used in the care of children with severe neurological and learning impairments
